About the Author

I am just a common man who grew up in a simple family, served with the Marines in Vietnam, in the police department, graduated from college, raised 4 godly children and presently have 15 wonderful grandchildren and one Great Grandchild. I have been called ‘plain vanilla’, nothing fancy, just an ordinary family man with something to say. I grew up in a small New England town on a country lake where I learned to hunt, fish, make genuine friends and value life, liberty and the rights of others. I don’t have all the answers to life but I have learned a few things on my journey to share with those who care enough to sit awhile and listen.

“The reason why so few good books are written is that so few people that write, know anything”. Here is my attempt both at writing and at knowing something.

So here are some thoughts, call it tails from a fisherman or maybe the musings of a minister, all from a worm’s eye point of view. The point of view of “The Scarlet Worm”.

If it wasn’t for you bringing EE to this town, I would never had moved my knowing the Lord from “head knowledge” to “heart acceptance.” The last eighteen inches were the slowest and most important. It only took forty one years. The Lord has blessed us with the ability to grab the rope and hold on tight. May our Precious Lord continue to hold you and your family in the hollow of his hand. We pray for you daily.

I have known you for so long, ever since Yum Yum’s, and you never cease to amaze me! You are truly an amazing man of God!!

    • But where would I be if you were not parked at the ‘Yum, Yum Dive Inn’ on Route #1 and shared your best friend with me? Probably on the broad road to hell if not on a front row seat in hell by now. You will never know this side of heaven all that you mean to us, and every piece of fruit that we have picked, and there have been thousands upon thousands you get a bite. Today I was in the VA hospital getting ready for another operation and they wanted details of my accident on September 30, 1968 when I dropped Ann off at your house before going home and almost being killed, remember those days? Amazing is a pretty big word for an ordinary guy, I just love Jesus and it’s because of you and Ann and the ‘Yum, Yum Drive Inn.’ Thanks for being our friend and for being Ann’s best friend, you don’t get that title too often!
